June bathing suits

As I sit here at my computer looking at these bathing suit pictures, outside it’s snowing – yet again. April is just 4 days away but it feels like we are smack dab in the middle of winter. Matt sent me a link to this video yesterday and it’s exactly how I feel every morning. (PLUS ONE!)

Moving on from the bitter cold complaints (bitter intended) …

I mentioned a few weeks ago that I am working on a closet overhaul of sorts. It doesn’t just mean getting rid of things but buying better things. I haven’t bought a new bathing suit in years, yet I still have SO MANY. They accumulated over the years, a bunch of pieces that aren’t particularly flattering or well made.

So when I somehow stumbled upon a local swimwear line – June Swimwear – through the rabbit hole also known as the internet, I kept them on my radar. I do my best to buy items made in North America – and only buy things I really need. I don’t really need a drawer full of bathing suits but if I am going to improve my wardrobe, I want everything to be better.  So now I can get rid of all those bathing suits that I couldn’t bring myself to get rid of before – JUST IN CASE. Now I have a versatile top with a criss-crossy back and some solid, pattern and itty bitty when I’m on vacation bottoms. They are made IN MONTREAL by a local designer and I will be proud to wear them out!

  • A good bathing suit is so essential – I only have 3 that I wear and I have been wearing them for the last 3 years. J Crew, Victoria’s Secret, and Joe Fresh have good ones. I think a black top is always good to have because you can match it with almost any bottoms. Like the galaxy bottoms…I love the print! Here’s hoping winter ends soon so we can get some sun!
