We spent Saturday at the Beau’s beer Oktoberfest event. We almost didn’t make it because tickets sold out a month ago for the Saturday but at the last minute (seriously – we got the good to go confirmation around 11 am on Saturday) we decided to go. This would be Matt’s 4th year in a row that he hadn’t missed it. So we rushed off to Vankleek Hill, Ontario with a quick pit stop for lunch on the way. We were very happy with the weather and it was a great time to spend outside, people watching, tasting new beers, eating complimentary pretzels. I took lots of pictures, I will share more later this week!
Sunday was a day to cook, bake and enjoy some apple cinnamon pancakes! I still have lots of apples left from last weekend, I need to get some baking done. I threw them in my pancakes and even added a chopped apple to a smoky chipotle sweet potato chili I made. Yup, chili weather is back.
