WEEKEND MOMENTS

So, it looks like fall is here. Saturday was partly sunny, a fairly comfortable day. I got some work done around the apartment, rearranging and organizing, snapping a few photos of items to add to the shop. Afterwards, I met up with Matt and we went to the Jean talon market to pick up dinner supplies. We made tomato and celery root soup with aged cheddar/caramelized onion/apple grilled cheese. (We don’t mess around) and watched movies.

Sunday, I got to try Maison Publique for brunch. Jaimie Oliver (insert heart symbols here) is a partner in this fairly new british Pub here in Montreal. The decor oozes with english pub charm. However, british pub food is not known to be vegetarian friendly and this one is no exception to that rule. I will probably never be here for dinner (unless I have a meal comprising of different desserts – I’m not against that idea) but I can eat brunch – that is if I ask for the bacon on the side and Matt eats it. So I ordered the pancakes with bacon and barely finished the plate of fluffy pancakes with maple syrup and whipped butter. And then my body hated me for the entire afternoon because all I fed it was a buttery croissant and pancakes. I had cauliflower and spinach that night so that evens it out, right?
