SPRING FLOWER WORKSHOP

Last week I was invited to welcome spring with an Eco Flower Workshop hosted by Caroline Boyce of Floralia (eco flowers!) and Sarah Richardson of Galerie CO. Though at first I was a little hesitant about how exciting a flower arranging workshop could be (Flowers are beautiful but I never considered myself a girly girl, none of my excessive amount of houseplants even make flowers!) but I really enjoyed myself. Along with a dozen other bloggers, we got a quick demo from Caroline then we were left to our own devices with the occasional suggestion and help from Caroline. I got to finally meet Anile and Christelle in person which was exciting and see a few new faces.

We sipped wine, snacked on delicious snacks and made a huge mess chopping, trimming and arranging beautiful unique bouquets. There is something so satisfying about looking at something you made with your own hands. Now a little over a week later, with barely any maintenance needed, my bouquet is still looking beautiful in my apartment. This experience has definitely made me want to have fresh flowers more regularly in my home.

I love the idea of Floralia, Caroline has a flower ‘farm’ (a patch of land in hemming ford) where she grows flowers for her bouquets (occasionally purchasing from other Eco flower farms if need be). She has a great subscription service where you can get weekly flower bouquets delivered to one of her drop off points around the city. And the selections keep changing as the months pass with new seasonal flowers coming and going. Definitely visit her site to find out more about what makes flowers eco-friendly and order a bouquet for yourself! (She also does weddings)

p.s. Just look at the pictures below, a clear indication that Caroline loves what she does and sharing it with us!

Thank you ladies!
