MONTREAL // MARCHÉ JEAN TALON – winter

It had been years since the last time I had been to Jean Talon market (I know, a shame) when I visited them a few weeks ago, just as a Saturday afternoon activity. Though the market is much smaller in the winter and restricted to the indoors, there was still plenty to see, taste and drool over. Walking around checking the local produce while snacking on Onion Bhaji (fried indian goodness, 9th photo down) is a good way to spend the afternoon.

And I came home with a bag of 5 different varieties of beets Which I still need to use up.

I’m thinking chocolate beet muffins, though I would love to make something pretty with the lighter variations. And maybe convince my mom to pickle a few for me if there are any left by the time I visit her. (Pretty Please???)
