This top has been in my closet for probably more than 5 years. And it has seen the light of day ohhhhhhh I’d say, maybe something like… ONCE. I love it. A lot. But it’s just not what you would call a practical top. If you have boobs. But for the sake of pretty blog pictures, I pulled it out to pair with my new favorite jeans, because it’s such a great top and summer doesn’t last long around here. I picked these jeans up in San Francisco in May and they rarely leave my body. I wear them everywhere – and because they are black, I can get away with wearing them to work without feeling too casual.

This fanny pack (I really feel it’s too cool to be called a fanny… hip bag? belt pouch?) is my favorite of my fannies. Yes, I have multiple fanny packs; counting off the top of my head, I would say 6, maybe 7. What can I say, I love being hands free. You know, for cartwheels and two-handed thrifting. I love that this bag is a beautiful shade of leather and is also a belt, with an actual buckle. It was so convenient when we were walking around San Francisco, while Matt had his backpack for snacks, cameras and purchases. He was the mule, while I looked cute in my leather fanny pack.

Funny story about these ankle boots: they weren’t even meant for this outfit. But I picked them up at the church sale that very morning and since I’ve worn the same damn (awesome) sandals in every outfit post so far this year, Matt insisted I mix it up with my new shoes. After approval by my aunts and mom – while they shucked corn and gossiped on the porch – it was decided. And I think it works even better, the boots compliment the fanny (pack) and they elongate my body more than a pair of sandals would. They are really comfortable and someone went through the trouble of having a new sole put on sometime before giving them up so I’m in business for a while with these guys.

Here is a fun little throwback to 2010, on these same train tracks, though a little further down. Back when I was apparently really into (over) post-processing my photos. My eyes! They burn.
