Oh hello there, missed my mug, have you? Well you are in luck, cuz there it is, up close and personal.

Ive been thinking about starting outfit posts again for a while [for those of you who are new here – I used to have a ‘fashion’ blog] When I think about what I want my blog to  share/teach/inspire, the recurring theme in my internal brainstorming is that I want to make some sort of difference. I feel that conscious shopping is a message that still needs help being shared. I’ve often talked about the great stuff I find in thrift stores but I do believe the message gets through stronger when I show real life examples to enforce my belief that you can fill most of your closet with second hand items. [Lets not forget that you won’t likely be running into anyone with the same outfit as you, you will save tons of money and will often end up with quality pieces that will last (another) lifetime.]

I did absolutely nothing to celebrate Canada Day yesterday [unless you count sleeping in, a lazy brunch outside in the sunshine and a Leave it to Bryan marathon]. But at least I made an effort to pull out one of my [3] red items of clothing for the day. Because that’s what celebrating your country is all about, red shorts.

The cat bomb was not planned – but I think the copious amounts of fur that flew off him really complimented my look. I haven’t met a strange cat I haven’t needed to pick up and cradle like a baby, I’m even tempted with skunks from time to time. I kinda wanted to throw this ginger into my purse and give bob a new play friend. But Bob’s used to being a spoiled brat an only child and I think he would turn all Macaulay Culkin on any new Elijah Woods I might take home.
