HONORABLE MENTIONS | SAN FRANCISCO

A month later, I am finally wrapping up the San Francisco posts. I took a lot of pictures and we visited a lot of interesting places but I can’t dedicate an entire post to every place we enjoyed so here is the rest. Everything else that’s worth mentioning.

1. Streets of San Francisco Bike Tours – Josh was an awesome tour guide and the bike ride was nowhere near as deadly as I had expected. Though sunscreen on our hands would have been wise.
2. Tartine – Their reputation had us interested in seeing what the hype was about. Breakfast wasn’t impressive, line ups are long and getting a table even mid-day/mid-week requires a few kicks and punches. BUT we got a chocolate croissant to go and ohmygoodnessgracious. DELICIOUS.
3. Golden Gate Park – HUGE park and so green, a nice place to walk around. Especially while eating that croissant you bought earlier. But do yourself a favor, buy 2 – maybe 3.
4. The Palace of Fine Arts Theatre – Stumbled upon by complete mistake but it was beautiful so I had to take pictures.
5. Stuff [on Valencia street] – 2 full floors of mid-century everything. And so reasonably priced that I would have emptied my bank account to fill my home if I didn’t live so far.
6. The painted ladies… I mean come on, full house. And they really are so cute.
7. The ocean – We walked to the ocean, it was a long walk. But I always love the ocean.
8. Trouble Coffee – This is why we walked all the way to the ocean. They serve cinnamon toast, coconut and coffee. That’s it, that’s all and so worth the walk.
9. Philz Coffee – Right in the mission [our home for the week] with an overwhelmingly impressive selection of coffees.

Also worth mentioning:
The Jelly Donut – thoroughly filled my late night donut cravings and the little old woman behind the counter always gives an extra donut or 2. So basically we ordered 2 and ended up with 4 donuts in our little paper bag. FINE BY ME! I would have stopped here to end every evening but since we were already eating a lot all week – I refrained. I regret it!
Haight street – and all its vintage stores. I prefer my vintage cheap as hell and hunted for in a dirty thrift store so I didn’t buy anything but it was fun to explore them.
Taquerias El Farolito – Another late night essential in the misison – mexican! This place always had a line so we took that as a sign that it was good. And from I remember after a few beers, it was…?
