After two 3-day weekends, this one seemed to just slip through my fingers. Which is silly considering it was jam-packed and shared between country and city. Those are the best kinds, best of both worlds in 2 days.
I had a good friend’s wedding shower in the country on Saturday so I hopped on the bus to my parents place Friday night. I got up extra early Saturday morning, had my usual egg-cheese-tomato-local baked croissant-sandwhich breakfast and a coffee. Then I shaved my head. 3 days of extreme humidity and all notion of growing out hair was out the window.
I hadn’t been to the church sale in a few months so it was a great treat to go rummage through decades of treasures. Oddly enough, most of what I picked out ended up being completely inappropriate for this hot July weather; A vintage wool plaid jacket, wool plaid floor length skirt – with lining, a RL wool knit cardigan with a deer print, a denim Levi jacket with faux sheep lining – for matt, ‘Merrell hiking boots, along with a few summery things too.
Saturday afternoon was spent wishing to be adopted by Jenny’s parents just so I could spend my summer at their house, enjoying the view and the pool. We showered her with gifts and stuffed our faces with food and sangria, hiding in the shade, away from the blaring sun and dipping in the pool to cool off every few hours.
And on Sunday, matt and I went to see Justin Townes Earle play a show at Petit Campus. He was amazing, check him out if you don’t know him.
