New York, it’s a hell of a town. This was my second visit to the city that never sleeps, but my first time seeing so much of it. A few photographer friends and I spent a long weekend exploring, taking pictures and of course eating. New York is a fun city but one visit every few years is plenty for me.

Love the blur in the first photo.
agree!!!
solid blur
The first shot is amazing. The night shot of the Brooklyn Bridge is beautiful. The reflection of lights on the water is spot on. And I love the ghosts in Grand Central Station. Well done!
Amazing pictures! It’s the first time I come on this blog and the first picture is now my background!

I recently visited NYC so most, if not all, of these ‘views’ are still fresh in my mind. I particularly remember those tables selling an assortment of items, including those 3D crystal cubes.
Great shots of NYC :-) That dog worker looks underworked!
The first shot is quite outstanding. But the grand central station is also a beautifol one. If you like long exposures, New York is definetely the right city to photograph.
like da photos…Brooklyn bridge koool..NY NY d best
CHECK DIS VIDEO I DID IN NEW YORK CITY http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yPD7LJ2zMqE
I like how you’ve captured the spirit of flea market (last 3 photos). The shot of the vintage lunch box has some form of allure on me because now I wish I could visit New York right this instant to visit that flea…
nice shots! :)
these are such great shots eh. Do you also work as a photographer?
All of those are amazing!
the first photo attracted me straight in, great image :)
I followed you back here from Freshly Pressed, congratulations!

Awesome… reminds me of my trip to New York more than a year back :)
Wow. Brilliant photos. Well done on getting onto Freshly Pressed. :)
Beautiful. I know what you mean about 1 NYC visit being more than enough every few years: there’s always so much to the place. The b& w shot of the waves underneath the bridge had to be my favourite picture, though I think they are all brilliant. Thank you for sharing. :)
Like it!
Interesting photo’s you made, especially the first one.
grz. Mark
Id love to be able to take photos like this. There are obviously techiniques not avaiable to we clivk and point folk. I’m going to enroll in a beginners course and see what I can make of it. Very inspirational.
Amazing photo’s! Love the one of the dogs, the one really doesn’t want to go for a walk by the looks of it! hehe!

Wow, you went everywhere in NYC. You always find something new in that city, it’s incredible!
Great shots. They put your own interests on display. Bruce
I live here…and forget how gorgeous it looks to visitors. I’ve been using Grand Central as my train station since 1988 and it’s easy to forget how beautiful it really is as you rush through it to reach your train. It’s one of my favorite spots here. I really like your Coney Island in the rain pix.
there is not a more beautiful city in the world…good job capturing it on film
What a great city!
Stunning images! Love the last one, especially.
Hugs,
Kathy
beautiful pics! love NYC!!
Love your photography! First one is amazing!
Nice Pictures! “Going to Grandma’s”
You did a fantastic job capturing NYC! (love the ducks !)
Your pictures have presented a different perspective to NYC. The first impression you get when you reach NYC is that its a very busy city. Most of the other pics it have seen in the past have also represented the same. Except for the pic NYC_12 most of the other pics show a quite NYC.
What great photographic perspective… the little suitcase, the letter blocks, the duck even. Fabulous!
Yes, the Grand Central is beautiful! how long was the exposure?
I have an almost identical one from Grand Central :)
Lovely photos – thanks for sharing them! One of my favourite places in the whole world :)
love the red suitcase.. i enjoyed looking at all your photographs.. beautiful shots..
These photos are postcard worthy! Really like them!

You never seen New York before????????? How funny. Its one of the most beautiful and popular city in USA. It’s a city of light and color.
I live in PA, but I love NY! Were some of those shots from the Hell’s Kitchen Flea Market by chance?
yes it was :)
I bought a beautiful pin there for $10 a few years ago. Thanks for the trip down Memory Lane…
Very inspiring. I love NY and try to visit every summer. Didn’t make it last summer so they’ll be two this year!!! You captured many different angles of NY and I just want to look at these pics until June. The shot of the water under was so lively. Very nice.
You did a great jon catching the on the street spirit of NY in these. Especially love the one of the bridge and the one of the sand and shells.
Hi love the photos can i use some of them to show case New York in my site. will send people back to your blog
Cool idea.
Nice photos. Thank you to share with us

I like how most of the people in your shots are blurred or looking away – so many nameless, faceless people in NY? Interesting view of the city…
Congrats on being Freshly Pressed!
I never really thought about it that way, but you’re right. I find the people sometimes more interesting than the stuff that’s been there and will be there for years.
Great capture of NYC!
Which Fleamarket did you go to? Lovely pictures!
Thank you! and it was the hell’s kitchen flea market
Thanks Emily. Got to stop by there next time I’m in the City. :)

Really nice! Every one of them tells a story. I’m partial to the pic of the man in the red shoes for some reason. He looks like he needs a hug. And the “No Mating Any Time”?!? Only in NY. Thanks for sharing your talent, and congrats on being FP. :) – MoSop
lovely pictures
These are great pics. I love seeing how people perceive NYC.
Very nice! I liked the ducks the best, followed very closely by that night shot!
I’m from New York and i gotta say that this is excellent work. But if i was you i would have looked up new york photography online to visit certain areas that are vast and beautiful places. I live here and that photography made me feel like i havent seen everything yet and i been just about everywhere but that goes to show you how big this city really is. I mean the views of some of these areas made me want to tour the city again myself buddy -,o

You really did an excellent job capturing the essence of NYC. I’ve been there many times since I live in South Jersey and good job in taking photos of everyday NYC living–I’m very impressed!
A great snap life at NY, one of the few big cities I truly enjoy. You got it all (almost! surely, there’s always more to see…) in a few shots, of great quality each and every single one. The taxi amazes me! Keep it on!
Simply the best city on Earth. :) I’m from the suburbs of NY and the pictures made me miss it. I’ve been living in Madrid the past 2 years and while I love Madrid, nothing compares to NYC.
Excellent set of photos. I love how people see NYC.
going to the big apple in august. Cant wait. Enjoy it everytime!

Nice photos! You’ve inspired me through these photos to maybe go and visit one day.
Awesome pics.
Wow! Your shots are amazing! My favorite is the night shot with the reflection. What kind of camera do you use?
Seems like an exciting visit. :) Thanks for posting. :)

These photos make me feel nostalgic about NYC. I am from Europe and last summer I spend some time there.
By the way, photos are A.M.A.Z.I.N.G.
amazing shots! made me very excited to get there.
Brilliant photos! I adore how you incorporated the colors. Though, I do have one question, how were you able to take pictures of people without them, to put it simply, flipping right the freak off? Did you ask for their permission? If so, how do you do it? I’m always too timid to ask people if I can take pictures of them!
amazing work!! I love New York City!
Very nice. I like your eye.
Can’t help wondering what that taxi smells like! Great photos!
GORGEOUS shots! And “Black Ice”, I wonder what that smells like? LOL!
great shots! i’m heading to NY for the first time ever in a week, so this was a great warm-up… :D

I’m almost proud to say that I am a New Yorker. Yep, live right across from Manhattan. And I have to agree with you. It’s crazy, and going into the city isn’t something that I would do often because it’s nuts there.

We have to figure out a way to make you return to New York City frequently. You take the best photos. Your Grand Central Photo is one for the archives. You have to come back and do a timeline for the cabs/taxis. They will be phased out to become an all Nissan fleet. World Trade Center will be back bigger and more expansive. It is becoming a city for Entrepreneurs. It is already a city for Fashion and Design and Media. Food? Honestly, can you get better food in such variety within a few miles of each other served in original languages anywhere else in the world? Where else in the world could you stay a few years and claim as your own country and assimilate? Probably even run for Senator or Governor? Now, have you thought of that? You do have to return. New York admires you.
oh my geeee! these are fantastic! great post!! =D
The photos are great. New York is amazing. It is really neat to see how people get around.
Wow, you really have an eye for taking photos. I particularly like the one with the horses in front of Times Square; it’s like a combination of old and new. Well done!

Great shots!
Beautiful photographs. I lived in Brooklyn for a year and you really captured some fantastic glimpses of the city, rather than traditional tourist shots. Almost made me wish I still lived there!

I love the ducks by the way. its inspiring, how superbusy city like NY can let them live free among people… Waw.. its beatiful,
I have traveled to New York numerous times but it’s always great to see it through the eyes of someone else. Here are my favorites; letters and numbers (last photo), water under the bridge, shells on the beach, the wet boardwalk and ducks walking on/in water. Thanks for making my day a little brighter with your wonderful work.
Great pics, especially the red suitcase! I took two teenagers to NYC recently and published a couple of posts about the trip. I personally love NY and enjoy going as often as I can.
Love your photos but I would definitely visit more frequently! I love NYC! I put together a post just on The High Line alone… http://designchickee.wordpress.com/2012/02/29/roaming-the-high-line-in-nyc/
Congrats on a great post!

Truly stunning work. Makes me miss the city so much. Bravo!
I like your photos, especially Grand Central :)
thanks for the ride… now I want to go back.
Nice job capturing the character of the city. =)
The beautiful thing about NYC is its ability to reinvent itself. Every time I visit, I continue to wish someone would put together a “Before and After” piece on specific areas like Washington Park, Times Square, Union Square, Battery Park and my altime favorite, Union Station. Great Photos, you brought a piece of the Big Apple home to me.
AMAZING pictures. There really is nowhere else like New York – total tour de force.
Congrats on being Freshly Pressed =)
I grew up in this city and it wasn’t until I moved and visited again that I was really able to see just how amazing it is. You did a great job of capturing it here!
Great photos! Photography of city life has always been my favorite both to look and and to shoot.
My favorite city in the world, from the perspective of a patient center eye. Thank you.
LOVE it!!! This is what NYC is all about: rush and excitement. Like Jim said…. “thanks for the ride”!

Beautiful shots! I too Love NY and have the pleasure of living right outside in NJ so I make it over as much as I can. I love the angles and focus techniques you used to create unique images of some very photographed icons in the city!
Amazing photos! New York is truly an unique city and is a definite must-visit location to get the full effect!
From the locations of your photographs it seems like you covered a lot of ground in a short amount of time. Next time you’re out here, take it easy and stay away from the Square. Relax and take it all in easy as you please.
I love, love, love the taxi cab, duck and bridge photos. And I was super excited to see the red suitcase. I have that suitcase!!! When I was a child, it held all my doll’s clothes. Awesome!
Very artistic pictures:) and this summer I have plans to visit New York too and I really looking forward:P

The beach shot with the shells is great!
This was an amazing set of photos i must say. I see all of these locations on a daily basis and have not appreciated them as much until now. Great job i must say
I totally love the Grand Central picture, when You live in NYC you tend to ignore the beauty and simplicity behind many things. GC is like my second home I walk in and out of it everyday on my way to work and back home, and the occasional weekend visit while on my way to have fun, it is great to see it at its best…great images.
Smashing Shots!

… a off the ‘kinda’ subject but a NYC funny one… Back when I was oh maybe 18 or 19 i drove to NYC from the Boston area where I was born and raised. I had ben to the city but by train or bus… I had, I think 1969 or 70 Rover 2000 if anyone knows what they were… Anyway after the 2nd day I was beat… garaging that thing was bankrupting me until after 7PM… ect… anyway I was comming up 1st or 2nd Av which ever goes uptown and my intention was to get on the FDR at 59th st… I had a good run of perhaps 15 lights but the last one got me!!! I went to the right through the yellow and tried to cut in front of a cabbie at the other side of the intersection… NO DICE.. I ended up skiding up on to the sidewalk tooting my horn so people would move…. and this is the funny part… the side walk was wide and people got the ‘hint,’ I almost had a heart attack on the spot and this guy says ‘Get this piece of junk off the sidewalk! Pronto! I yessired all of them to death and a cop went right on by… It blew me AWAAAYYY!…LOL
I lived in NYC studying as an actor, and your pictures brought me right back. Also, your pictures reminded me of my own pictures and my journal when I was there to post. Thanks for the “flash (back)”.

I really enjoyed this post! Your pictures of NYC were splendid and, you really captured the experience of everyday New Yorker’s as well as tourists. It’s rare that I see photography that does this so well and I’m sure it has a lot to do with your excitement and healthy appetite for taking in all of the subtle nuances of this great city! I agree with you, NYC can definitely be a bit much and it took some getting used to as I’m from Savannah, Ga. But, you captured everything I like about the city. I can’t wait to follow more of your work — keep it coming!
Cheers to excitement, great captures, and showing the human experience!
