A few weeks ago I won tickets to dinner during Montreal Restaurant Week to Chu Chai, a thai vegetarian restaurant. So on Friday night a friend and I got to enjoy a free 3 course meal with a nice glass of wine each. It was a much needed relaxing evening out to catch up. Followed by a nice – albeit cold – weekend in Montreal.
- Made a mean breakfast of eggs cooked in a tomato sauce (shakshuka) and ate it all up with some pita bread. [I’ll share the recipe soon, so easy, veggie and delicious]
- Took advantage of the sunshine on Saturday to walk around the city and visit a coffee shop or two and snap some photos, being all hipstery.
- Since I had some amazing goji berry bread, I NEEDED to make grilled cheese with it. [bread with berries in it = instant amazing grilled cheese]
- And since I had some tomatoes leftover after the shakshuka, I roasted them in the oven and made a tomato basil soup to go with the grilled cheese.
- My parents were in town so we all got together for dinner. I ate way too much sugary desserts. [I don’t keep processed food at home but when it’s within reach, I go a little nuts]
- And finally cooked up a batch of chili for the week’s lunches. I ran out of time to make the mandatory cornbread but that’s on the agenda for when I have a spare 30 mins this week.
“being all hipstery” is the dorkiest thing you’ve ever said.
you make up for it in amazing photography.
you’re lucky I like you. :P
