Rhubarbe is a little bakery in the mile end (just a few blocks away from Sain Bol) and every Sunday the tiny, 7 table restaurant serves brunch. They take reservations only for the first service at 10:30 and after that, it’s first come, first served. We had attempted a few weeks back to stop in for brunch and were told that the wait was 45 minutes so we ended up walking to Maison Publique instead.
This time, I made reservations. We had already been to Rhubarbe last winter for their brunch and knew we wouldn’t be disappointed. The menu is small, with only five choices, but hasn’t disapointed us yet. There is always something for us vegetarians and if you need a little bubbly with brunch, they have that too. All of the menu options come with a savory scone to start and a dessert to finish off your meal. My kind of breakfast! I couldn’t resist ordering the squash waffles with apple, cheddar and pecans and Matt had the continental breakfast which has a great balance of savoury and sweet. It’s a great little cozy spot for sunday brunch.
