You know, I’ve assisted photographing weddings before – though it’s been a while – and if every wedding job was like photographing one of your best friends’ wedding, I would quit my job right now and be a wedding photographer.

My friend Jenny asked if I could snap a few photos at her wedding this summer. There were lots of cameras, including her new husband’s brother, but I figured I would take the camera along and snap some candid shots that might get missed. Just looking at these photos right now makes me smile. This girl could NOT keep a straight face during the ceremony. It’s quite a treat to photograph a bride who is just really happy to be marrying her best friend in front of her oldest friends and family. I’m sure some part of her brain was worrying that she didn’t turn the oven off at home but she still had a great day and looked like the crazy and authentic girl we all love so much.

When I met Jenny almost 10 years ago, she had bright pink hair. And it was a sweet reminder of those days when I saw her pink shoes peeking out from under her dress. If you keep reading, you will also see the bride cake topper has pink hair.
