ECO STYLE | GLAMOUR

I had been searching high and low for the perfect outfit for a friend’s wedding this summer and I  unexpectedly found it in a new vintage store here in Montreal. It – a vintage yellow DVF silk dress – was nowhere near what I had in mind but it was love at first sight, with a price tag that intensified that love.

I wasn’t sure I would buy new shoes for the occasion but while helping my sister pick out some shoes for her wedding, I spotted these in the sale section and I knew they would compliment the dress and fit the classic style I was going for. I don’t buy many pairs of ‘new’ shoes because I have more than enough high heels to last me a long time (the result of being short and working in offices for the last decade). This pair seemed very versatile so I decided they were a good investment. And let me tell you these are comfortable. There was no barefoot dancing at THIS wedding (for my part) and that’s a first.

I wanted to get my hair done in finger waves because sometimes you have to take advantage of special occasions as an excuse to get all dolled up. The hair appointment almost made us late for the wedding (I take half the blame but also blame the salon for starting late). Though we were 4 minutes late, we didn’t miss any of the ceremony – thank god. However I did kind of get yelled at by the bride.
