ONE MONTH : DISCONNECTED

INSTAGRAM-01

After thinking about it for a long time, this week I decided to take a month off social media. I don’t have a facebook account, I ditched that about 3 years ago, it was too much of a negative distraction in my life. But I’ve been feeling like Instagram and twitter have been falling more and more into that bad distraction category. It was a difficult decision because I do feel like Instagram brings something good to my life aswell. It makes me snap more pictures, think about compostion and I see a lot of images from others every day that I find inspiring or just pretty to look at.

I finally decided that August would be the month of no instagram. I thought I would also take a break from twitter, another amazing time waster and overwhelming addiction. Sure there is a ton of great and useful information and inspiration on twitter but if all you do is look at all the amazing things other people are doing, it turns into a distraction from actually going out and creating/living yourself.

I still snap pictures on my phone on a regular basis (a beautiful sky during my morning yoga class, some funny/vulgar graffiti to send to M, …). And the pictures that are really worth sharing will just be posted here instead (except the vulgar graffiti).
